WWLT Student Board Member Recognized for Local Leadership

Woods and Waters Land Trust wants to send a heartfelt congratulations to our student board member Emma Strong, who was recognized by the professional women’s group EmpowHER Frankfort as a Top Young Women Leader in Frankfort/Franklin County. She is among six young women to receive this acknowledgement.

Emma is a senior homeschooler, and with her list of achievements, it’s clear she is worthy of this recognition. In addition to her volunteer work at WWLT, she has volunteered with L.I.F.E. House for Animals, the Kentucky Historical Museum, Fantasy Forest Park, Bourbon on the Banks Festival, New Leash on Life, and the KSU Agriculture Department. She was co-lead of the Frankfort Youth Climate Strike, and also created and led a small photography club. She is looking forward to pursuing a career in real estate and social media marketing.

We’re proud to have Emma as part of our team, not only because of her talent for implementing new ideas for fundraising and community involvement, but because she finds this work meaningful. “My work in WWLT is important to me because of their conservation, education and overall outreach they do in Frankfort,” she says.
